What we collect

We do not run analytics, advertising trackers or user accounts. The contact tool on our site works only in your browser; it does not transmit anything to us. We receive personal data only when you choose to email us, in which case we process your name, email address and the content of your message.

Our hosting provider may record standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security and reliability. These logs are kept for no longer than 30 days.

Why and on what legal basis

We use emails you send to reply to you and, where relevant, to correct or improve our content. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running an accurate archive and responding to enquiries (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence for up to 24 months, then delete it unless it is needed to document a correction you supplied, in which case we keep only the source information, not your contact details, unless you agree otherwise.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your data. Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email us. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
